Celebrating My Position

Well it's been 9 days since I started my diet and I'm happy with the results.  I did a quick start and it was a little more aggressive than the normal plan but I was pleasantly surprised.  I wasn't hungry and only had a couple hours of wanting to eat at every restaurant we drove by.

The results were great...11 pounds and 14.5 inches!

I really like the way this is set up and I have felt a lot of energy on it.  The place I fell short in the past 9 days was the workout.  So I need to be more diligent with that in the next weeks.  So I'm praying for a desire and space to workout.

We've also been working on our financial status and I can say that has hit a lot of turbulence.  We are in the place in our life that we want to totally depend on God's provision but when it gets hard to see, we question what we've heard.  We then want to figure it out on our own and stop listening to God and then pray He will bless it.  This is not an acceptable way of doing life!

When you go through a program whether for diet or financial, they all work if you follow the plan.  But when you are also wanting to live under the grace of God and not under law, then sometimes it feels like a lot of self-effort and willpower.  I have reached the point in my life that I no longer want to live under self-effort and working it on my own.

I know that I am a daughter of the King and have every spiritual blessing.  I have to transform my mind that I live out of how God sees me and not out of how I see myself or how the world is evaluating.  I appreciate how God uses programs to give us tracks to run on, and the grace that when you side step, His love never changes.  He doesn't evaluate us by our effort, He sees us through Jesus work on the cross.

I am already victorious through Jesus' work on the cross... I appreciate the Isagenix program as these results have been great!  Celebrating my position in Him!

Romans 8:37-38

37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Good and Perfect Gifts

Sometimes when I start stuff that feels like it is going to be painful you set your mind on all the deprivation and do not fix our minds on the right things.  So my entire expectation is for this to be horrible and I just need to get through it.  While I'm in the beginning of a diet and having been on several hundred over my lifetime, I know the first few days are the hardest.  You feel deprived, your body is fighting you, you don't know what to do with the extra time, or you are busy figuring, calculating, making shopping lists.

Well I've been deprived.  Having come off a diet the past couple years where certain food groups were eliminated and no exercise. This one (Isagenix) comes with an exercise plan and choices from all food groups.  I can have avocados, almonds, tomatoes and fruit, I was excited and satisfied.

But wait, that's not all!  Today was a more restricted today and my friend Ginger let me have her box of Isagenix IsaDelight Plus and I was not expecting this surprise. This product is like eating Ghirardelli dark chocolate but it improves mood, metabolism and energy.  Which my amazing and supportive son says I need all of that.  They were amazing!  I get to have chocolate on this diet and do not have to feel guilty about it.  I'm good!

Not to over spiritualize things, but I just felt like this was my daddy (God) saying, I know you like your chocolates and you can have them now.

James 1:17 "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

My good and perfect gift today was chocolate and a great friend on this journey with me!  Thanks Ginger, thanks Isagenix, and thank you Jesus!

What's in a Number?

Started the diet this morning and I wasn't going to weigh in.  I didn't really want to see the number.  What's that all about?  I know I'm not the only one that hasn't wanted to get on a scale.  And it isn't just the scale numbers or the measurement numbers I've faced this week.  Rick (my husband) and I also put together a budget, debt numbers, everything.  Yes it's true, we are also going after our finances.

What's in a number (whether scale, tape measures, or checkbooks)?  Fear, Shame, Condemnation

None of those feelings are from God, they are all from the enemy.  So if we are going to take dominion over our money, our bodies, our life, then we need to know the numbers.  Then we can push through the garbage that Satan wants to put on us.

Numbers?...not a problem, Jesus took all that to the cross as well.

Thank you Jesus for the freedom and the release of these feelings.

If we are going to transform our lives than we have to understand where we are at and be in the presence of the only one that can transform us.  And when the number is better, that is how much we get to praise the one that transforms.

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.  Romans 8:1

Let's face our numbers together...we can do it!

It Starts With the First Step!

Okay, well here I go again!  You would think by the age of 46 you would get some things figured out.  Well my weight has never been one of those things.

My life lately seems more about living on the vulnerable edge and getting to the end of me.  I'm just to the place I want all the stuff that is not valuable for the Kingdom to just go away.  Take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.  So body, you need to listen up, this is no longer acceptable, it's time for change.

So I figure you can do one of the following things:
  • Read, watch the fun while sitting on the sidelines! Or,
  • Ask yourself where your areas of transformation need to happen. And,
  • Say "yes" to whatever it is and join me on this journey.
Rules:
  • No judgment
  • Lots of prayer, support, and encouragement!
  • Lots of celebration and glorifying our King!
It's not all about weight, well maybe today it is.  But it won't always be.

So whatever your area of transformation needed,
  1. Name it
  2. Share it
  3. Pray and invite Jesus into the midst of it.  He is our everything.
  4. Take a step to get on track.
For me,
  1. Overweight
  2. I'm sharing it with whomever wants to read
  3. In process of lifting it up
  4. Starting Isagenix tomorrow morning (Friday, September 6)
Are you with me?

Let me know.
